Sonja Pinchasowna Abramowa ( Russian Соня Пинхасовна Абрамова Sonja Pinchasowna Abramowa ; born June 2, 1930 in Tashkent , Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic , Soviet Union ) is a Soviet-Uzbek pianist, composer and music teacher.

Life

Sonja Pinchasovna Abramova grew up in Tashkent and attended the music conservatory there. After she was assigned to the composition class of Yuri Nikolajewitsch Tjulins (1893–1978) from 1948 to 1949, she graduated in composition in 1954 after studying in Georgi Alexandrowitsch Muschel's class . After graduating, she worked from 1953 to 1957 as a musical assistant in a kindergarten in Tashkent. From 1957 to 1961 she taught piano and music theory at a boarding school for musically gifted children. From 1961 she worked as a lecturer at the music education faculty of the Pedagogical Institute in Tashkent.

Works (selection)

Sonja Pinchasowna Abramowa composed various works. In 1954 she published the opera Tamara, after having written a concerto for clarinet and orchestra in 1953. In the field of piano music she wrote a piano sonata in 1956 and four sonatinas in 1964. In 1961 she published an album of piano pieces and in 1962 the cycle Зоопарк [Zoo]. Smaller piano compositions include three fugues from 1957, variations from 1951 and 1963 and four polyphonic pieces from 1971. In 1961 she published a sonata for oboe and piano. Besides the romances Рассвет [Dawn] (1952), adapted from Aleksey Koltsov , Тихо ночь ложится [The quiet night lies down prostrate] (1952) by Ivan Savvich Nikitin, Dilbar with text by Aminjon Schukuchi (1950) and Колыбельная [Lullaby ] (Text by M. Isakovski (1960)) she wrote various songs and choirs. As a result of her educational work with children, she also wrote many pieces for children. So in 1972 Бабушка, милая бабушка [grandmother, dear grandmother] and in 1988 Шагайте смелее, танцуйте веселее: Марши и танцы для детей:. Marches and Dances for Piano. Both collections are in the holdings of the Russian State Library .
