Sonja Schüler (also: Sonja Schüler-Schubert ; * 1950 in Meißen ) is a German poet . She lives in Potsdam .

Life

Sonja Schüler obtained her Abitur in 1969 and, at the same time, the skilled worker qualification of an agricultural engineer, studied cultural studies at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig until 1973 and worked in the cultural field from 1973 to 1978, initially in Gera and later in Dresden . Since moving to Potsdam she worked in a horticultural company until 1990.

She began to write poetry ambitiously in her early youth, was a member of literary groups and completed an annual course at the Johannes R. Becher Literature Institute in Leipzig . She also received inspiration for her work through artistic exchanges with fellow writers such as Manfred Streubel , Kristian Pech and Waldemar Spender. She has repeatedly undertaken and continues to undertake study trips, in the recent past repeatedly to Tunisia .
