Sonnenborstel is a district in the municipality of Steimbke in the district of Nienburg / Weser .

history

Sonnenborstel was first mentioned in a document in 1378 in a letter from Duke Conrad Friederich of Braunschweig-Lüneburg to the Archbishop of Bremen . During the Thirty Years War , some Sonnenborstler farms were used to store cannon balls. In memory of this, a cannon ball is enclosed in the St. Vincentius Chapel.

On March 1, 1974, Sonnenborstel was incorporated into the Steimbke community together with Lichtenhorst and Wendenborstel .

In 2004, Samuel asked Lapwing Hössner the Group of Alliance 90 / The Greens in the state parliament of Lower Saxony in a small request a listing of all racist crimes since 1990 in Sun Borstel and surroundings. None were known.

Culture and sights

There are several registered associations in Sonnenborstel . The largest number of members is TuS Sonnenborstel 71 e. V., which was founded in 1971 and has had its own sports field since 1979. There is also a shooting club. Furthermore, the members of the Naturfreunde Sonnenborstel e. V. regularly for walks together.
