Naomi Novik
Naomi Novik (born April 30, 1973 in New York ) is an American writer .
Life
Novik studied English Literature at Brown University and earned a Masters in Computer Science from Columbia University . She was involved in the design and development of the computer game Neverwinter Nights: Shadow of Undernzit until she preferred writing to game design.

Her first novel, His Majesty's Dragon , which begins the series Temeraire (Eng. His Majesty's Fire Riders ), is an alternate story of the Napoleonic Wars in a world where dragons are used in aerial combat.

filming
In September 2006 it was reported that Peter Jackson had acquired the rights to film the Temeraire series. In December 2009 it was specified that it should be a TV series adaptation. According to Novik on Reddit in 2016, the option to film it was forfeited and the rights were back in their possession.
