Sunday acts

Sunday Acts was a public radio broadcast of the North German Radio in Hamburg. It could be heard on formerly four, later on two Sundays a month on the Hamburg state radio program NDR 90.3 . The program was recorded in a public event on Sundays at eleven o'clock and broadcast on the same day at 8:05 pm.

In terms of content, the program depicted the cultural life of the Hanseatic city of Hamburg. In addition to the diverse artistic contributions, interviews were held with interlocutors from the cultural scene. Musically, the musical, chanson, operetta, opera and rock'n roll styles were represented as well as maritime music, swing and jazz. High German and Low German readings also took place regularly. The program was first heard in May 1986 on what was then NDR Hamburg Welle 90.3 (now NDR 90.3). It was created in collaboration with the Hamburg University of Music and Theater . In the first few years, the program was broadcast live from the music college's forum. After a few years, the show moved to the Rolf Liebermann Studio (formerly Studio 10) at NDR.

From 1986 Friedhelm Mönter (1946–2009) was one of the moderators . The editor-in-chief was Gerd Spiekermann . One of the artists who appeared several times was Heidi Kabel , who received Mönter and Spiekermann on the occasion of their 75th, 80th, 85th and 90th birthdays.

The broadcast was discontinued at the beginning of December 2010 due to cost reductions. The last recording was on December 5, 2010.
