Sonomyn Luvsangombo

Sonomyn Luvsangombo (* 1924 ) is a former Mongolian politician of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MRVP) in the Mongolian People's Republic .

Life

After attending the Higher Military School in Ulaanbaatar, Sonomyn Luvsangombo studied at the Academy of Military Engineering in the Soviet Union and the College of Civil Engineering. Subsequently, he was an instructor and employee of the supply department of the Ministry of Construction between 1948 and 1956, in which he was then chief engineer from 1956 to 1959. Thereupon he acted between 1959 and 1971 as Vice Minister for Construction and most recently as First Vice Minister for Construction and the Building Materials Industry and at the same time as Vice Chairman of the State Construction Committee. At the 15th Party Congress in 1966, he was first a candidate for the Central Committee (ZK) of the Mongolian Revolutionary People's Party (MRVP) and then at the 16th Party Congress a member of the Central Committee of the MRVP, to which he was a member until 1989. He was also elected deputy of the Great People's Chural , the parliament of the Mongolian People's Republic.

After Sonomyn Luvsangombo was chairman of the Executive Committee of the People's Assembly of Ulaanbaatar between 1971 and 1972, he served as vice-chairman of the Council of Ministers between 1972 and 1982. In February 1982, he was member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and remained in that capacity until 1989. He also served as the successor to Lt. Gen. Oldziyhutagiyn Choyjilsuren from February 1982 to September 3, 1984 Minister of Public Security and blame as such in November 1982, the United States , Britain and Japan to have established centers to gather intelligence information on the Mongolian People's Republic. At a celebration in memory of the revolution in July 1983, he criticized the People's Republic by name and emphasized the position of the Mongolian People's Republic against the chauvinism of superpowers. In 1984 he was again Vice-Chairman of the Council of Ministers and at the same time Chairman of the State Committee for Construction, Architecture and Technology Control and held these functions until 1990. In February 1985 he was visiting Mozambique . Furthermore, he dissolved Damdinjavyn Maidar in 1985 as chairman of the Mongolian Society for Environmental Protection. During a visit from Choibalsan , he praised the Mongolian-Soviet military cooperation. For his many years of service he was awarded the Order of the Red Labor Banner and the Order of the Polar Star.
