Abraham Hunter

Abraham Hunter (* around 1640 / 45 ; † 2. June 1714 in Finsterwalde , Lower Lausitz , Kingdom of Saxony ) was a German cabinetmaker and mayor of Finsterwalde. He created altars , pulpits and baptismal angels in some churches in Niederlausitz.

He was a son of the carpenter of the same name Abraham Jäger from Triebel (today Trzebiel) in Lower Lusatia. In 1663 he was referred to as a journeyman and carpenter in Doberlug at his wedding with Maria, daughter of the cloth maker Bartholomäus Koswig from Finsterwalde . Since 1670 Abraham Jäger created altarpieces, pulpits, baptismal angels, a wooden baptismal font and galleries in various towns and villages in Lower Lusatia. When he died in 1714 he was mayor of Finsterwalde.
