Sons of Azrael was an American melodic death metal band from Buffalo , New York that was formed in 2004 and disbanded in 2012.

history

The band was formed in 2004 by singer Joe Siracuse, guitarists Greg DiPasquale and Tony Lorenzo, bassist Rob Steinwandel and drummer Derrick Sadkowski. After some demos were released and after appearances with bands like Vital Remains , Crematorium and Unmerciful , the band signed a contract with Ironclad Recordings , with Metal Blade Records taking over the distribution. The band released their debut album The Conjuration of Vengeance in the summer of 2007 . In 2010 the next album Scouting the Boneyard was released .

style

The band plays Melodic Death Metal, in which influences from Metalcore and Black Metal can be heard. Lyrically, the songs are often about Gore or are anti-religious.
