The semi-detached house Sontheimer Strasse 7 and 9 is a Wilhelminian style building in Heilbronn . The building is one of the “partly listed, partly also classified as town-planning houses” in the city. The municipality has declared the buildings from the Wilhelminian era, which were temporarily part of the Heilbronn red light district, to the redevelopment area Rathenauplatz , Quadrant IV and made 400,000 euros available for the now largely completed redevelopment.

history

The building was completed in 1902. In 1950, number 7 was the hairdresser Jakob Schreyer and Franz Schönbein's grocery store, and number 9 was the leather goods store Wandschneider. The upper floors were rented. In 1961 Paul Schropp took over the hairdressing business in No. 7, and in No. 9 was Gerhard Hermann's radio technology shop.

The building half no. 7 was known from the 1970s as brothel S 7 , analogous to the brothel known as S 3 in the neighboring building Sontheimer Straße 3–5 . The brothel leader Der Strich wrote about both establishments in 1984: Around 20 young women made love to their profession and buys at the same prices as their neighbors. The sports car of the protectors is parked between the two houses of joy, located directly in front of the industrial railway tracks of the global company “ Knorr ”. It can be seen in whose pockets the majority of the income flows in both houses.

Around the year 2000, the left half of the building (No. 7) was acquired by the municipality and sold on. While the left half of the building and the two neighboring buildings No. 1 and 3/5 were renovated in 2010, No. 9 was initially the only house in the former red light ensemble that was not yet inhabited. The renovation of No. 9 also began in 2015.

The Latasch snack bar is located in the basement of the extension to house number 9. The owner, who came from Poland, survived the Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camps during the Nazi era and later offered the city's first hamburgers at the Latasch snack bar in Heilbronn . Many legends from the time of the red light district have grown up around the Latasch snack bar . A few doors down, the Regina bar , the last night's bar in the area, has been preserved.

description
