Kang Soo-yeon (partly also written Kang Su-yeon ; born August 18, 1966 in Seoul ) is a South Korean actress .

Life

Kang Soo-yeon first appeared as a child star in 1971. She graduated from Korea University in Seoul .

It was in 1987 for the film drama The surrogate mother of Im Kwon-taek at the Film Festival in Venice awarded as the first Korean woman with the award for Best Actress. She advanced to one of the most internationally known Korean film stars with the part of Oknyo . A year later she was recognized as best actress at the Moscow International Film Festival for her role in The Path of Enlightenment .

For Aje aje bara aje ( The Path of Enlightenment ), also by director Im, she was recognized as best female leading role at the 27th Daejong Film Awards ( Seoul , 1989) and as best actress at the 1989 Moscow Film Festival .
