Sotos del Burgo is a place with 75 inhabitants (as of 2014) in the municipality ( municipio ) Valdemaluque in the province of Soria in northern Spain .
location
Sotos del Burgo is located at an altitude of about 930 meters above sea level. d. M. on the Río Lobos (sometimes also called Río Ucero ) about six kilometers (driving distance) southwest of Valdemaluque. The closest cities are Soria (approx. 65 kilometers east) and Aranda de Duero (approx. 70 kilometers west).

In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the formerly independent, rural town usually had well over 200 inhabitants. However, the mechanization of agriculture subsequently led to a persistent population decline, the end of which is still not in sight.

The agriculture , including to a lesser extent the cattle , formed for centuries the livelihood largely as self-catering living inhabitants. Tourism hardly plays a role.
history
The formerly independent town of Sotos del Burgo was incorporated into Valdemaluque in the mid-19th century.
Attractions
- Simple half-timbered houses with infill made of knots and loam are still there.
- The local parish church is an inconspicuous building from the 13th or 14th century made of quarry stones ( mampostería ) with a bell gable and a bell chamber behind it over the unadorned west facade. The portal is on the south side; the apse is encased in a rectangular shape.
