Souls of Mischief

Souls of Mischief is a hip hop group from Oakland , California, founded in 1991 . It consists of the rappers A-Plus , Opio , Phesto and Tajai who work together with other artists on the Hieroglyphics project .

Career

Tajai Massey (Tajai) and Adam Carter (A-Plus) met in elementary school and started making music together at the age of 8. At middle school , Tajai met Damani Thompson (Phesto), who was also rapping. 1993, during their high school days, began the four finally the project Souls of Mischief and released their successful debut album in the same year, 93 'til Infinity under the label Jive Records . 93 'til Infinity is still today, three albums later, the group's most successful album.

After the successor No Man's Land , Jive Records and Souls of Mischief separated in 1995 and the band members founded the project Hieroglyphics together with Del Tha Funkee Homosapien , Casual, Pep Love, Jaybiz, and producer Domino and released the albums 3rd Eye with this lineup Vision and Full Circle .

Under the independent label Hieroglyphics Imperium Recordings published Souls of Mischief nor the albums Focus and Trilogy: Conflict, Climax, Resolution had little success commercially. The following albums, Montezuma's Revenge (2009; Clear Label Records) and There Is Only Now (2014; Linear Labs) were recorded much better.
