action

A black-clad man acts as a soultaker to fetch the souls of Zack, Natalie and some other young people. In an accident provoked by him, however, their souls are thrown out of their bodies. While the walking souls of two of the young people are caught and absorbed by the soultaker after a short time, Natalie and Zack manage to escape to Natalie's parents' house. Their mother is the first person who can see and hear them. While Natalie is about to take a bath, Zack sits down in front of the TV, where he sees Natalie's parents tearfully announce that their daughter is brain dead and that the life support measures will soon be switched off. At that moment, Natalie's mother transforms into the Soultaker. Finally the two manage to escape again and go to the hospital. There they meet the Soultaker again, who persuades Natalie to come with him to another dimension. At the last moment, however, she flees again. Meanwhile, Zack meets Brad (the driver of the accident vehicle who has already been captured by the Soultaker). As a punishment for causing the death of others, he is now a soultaker himself. Brad gives Zack two rings that he can use to transfer souls. With the help of these rings, he and Natalie initially transfer their soul back to their body, but fail. Zack absorbs Natalie's soul from her body into one of the rings and flees from the Soultaker. Finally he succeeds in transferring his soul back into his body and then Natalie's soul into her dying body.

criticism

“It remains to be seen whether it should actually be counted among the 100 worst films at all. But it is definitely bad. The idea behind the film is neither particularly ingenious nor does the script manage to implement the weak idea in a useful way. "

“As I write these words, the film ranks 42nd out of 100 worst films on the IMDb. The film doesn't necessarily deserve that. In the end, Soultaker is at least a movie. A film full of plotlines, stupidities and incompetent representations, but still recognizable as a film. "
