Soungalo Ouattara

Soungalo Apollinaire Ouattara (born December 31, 1956 in Bobo-Dioulasso , Upper Volta , today Burkina Faso ) is a politician from the West African state of Burkina Faso. He is the incumbent President of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso and a member of the ruling CDP .

Before his election, Ouattara held various public offices. He succeeds Roch Marc Kaboré , who presided over parliament for two legislative terms. After the parliamentary elections in 2012, Ouattara was elected President of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso with 96 out of 127 possible votes at the constituent session of the National Assembly on December 28, 2012. His defeated challenger Denis Nikiéma from the UPC received 30 votes, all from the opposition camp .

Ouattara is married and has two children.
