The South Sawyer Glacier is a 40 km long valley glacier in the Boundary Ranges in Alaska (USA) and British Columbia (Canada).
geography
The South Sawyer Glacier is located 95 km southeast of Juneau in the Alaska Panhandle . The glacier drains part of the glacier area of the Stikine Icecap to the west towards the sea. The nutrient area of the glacier is on the Canadian side south of Owens Peak at an altitude of about 1400 m . The glacier flows northwest and crosses the border into Alaska. The average glacier width is 2.6 km. The glacier tongue of South Sawyer Glacier is located at the rear end of Tracy Arm . This represents a fjord that opens towards Stephens Passage . The South Sawyer Glacier, like other glaciers in the region, is on the decline.

The glacier tongue of the Sawyer Glacier is a popular tourist destination. Cruise ships therefore regularly head for the Tracy Arm, but not all of them go to the end of the fjord.
