South Atlantic Cable System ( SACS for short ) is a 6,165 km long submarine cable that connects South America and Africa . It was put into operation on September 26, 2018.

The cable runs from Brazil through the southern Atlantic Ocean to Angola , connecting South America with Africa at a speed of 63 milliseconds. With the South Atlantic Express , another submarine cable should be put into operation in 2018, which connects South America with South Africa .
