South Atlantic Express (short: SAEx ) is a 10,400 km long submarine cable that connects South America and Africa . It is scheduled to go into operation in the second quarter of 2018.
The cable runs from Brazil through the southern Atlantic Ocean to Africa and connects the island of St. Helena , as well as the two countries Namibia and South Africa . With the South Atlantic Cable System , another submarine cable will be put into operation in 2018, connecting South America with Africa.
