Souto de Carpalhosa (also Souto da Carpalhosa ) is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Leiria . The community had 3864 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Souto de Carpalhosa and Ortigosa were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Souto de Carpalhosa e Ortigosa . Souto de Carpalhosa is the seat of this newly formed community.
