The Soviet cemetery of honor in Stendal is a listed cemetery in the Röxe district belonging to the city of Stendal in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located immediately east of Lüderitzer Straße at the southern entrance to Stendal.

341 victims of the Second World War and the Nazi tyranny are buried in the cemetery. Soviet soldiers who fell during the fighting in spring 1945, as well as Soviet prisoners of war and forced laborers, are lying here . In some cases, after the end of the war, other burial sites were reburied here .

On the back of the complex there are stone tablets on which the names and the year of death of the buried are given in Cyrillic script . There is an obelisk in front of the panels . On it is the inscription in Russian and German :

TO THE HEROES WHO FALL IN THE FIGHT FOR THE
FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE
OF OUR HOME!
STALIN

At the upper end of the obelisk, a hammer and sickle and a Soviet star are incorporated on the west side .

In the southeast corner of the complex there is a sculpture depicting a Soviet soldier . Four stone slabs are set into the ground in front of the sculpture, on one of which the symbol of the Society for German-Soviet Friendship is depicted.

In the local register of monuments , the cemetery is listed as an architectural monument under registration number 094 18044 .
