Social category

Social category (also social category or demographic group ) is a term from sociology and population science and characterizes a number of people with common socially relevant and especially demographically significant characteristics. Confession , nationality , gender , age , occupation and income are often defined as socially relevant characteristics . Accordingly, examples of social categories are those over 60 years of age with an annual income of less than € 30,000 or academically educated women.
