The Social Science Institute (SI) of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) and the Evangelical Lutheran Regional Church of Hanover is the scientific service of the EKD and the regional churches . The institute is based in the Warmbüchenviertel in Hanover .

history

The institute was founded on October 1st, 2004 by the Evangelical Church in Germany and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hanover. The institute emerged from the previous social science institute of the EKD in Bochum and the pastoral sociological institute of the Evangelical University of Applied Sciences in Hanover (PSI).

tasks

The institute carries out practice-oriented research projects and works on current topics from the fields of economy and social affairs, social change, the world of work, and the sociology of church and religion. Research results are published in the form of publications. The institute works with scientific methods based on Christian value orientations.
