The Korshøj ( German  "Kreuzhügel" ) is one of 50 double- passage graves (in Danish called Dobbelt- or Tvillingejættestue ) that only occur in Denmark and Skåne . It was founded by the carriers of the Neolithic Funnel Beaker Culture (TBK) between around 3300 and 3100 BC. It is located in Ubby in the west of the Danish island of Zealand . The large stone grave lies under an approximately 3.5 m high round hill with a diameter of about 25 m. Neolithic monuments are an expression of the culture and ideology of Neolithic societies. Their origin and function are considered to be the hallmarks of social development.

Chambers

The Korshøj, excavated in 1843 and 1940, has two unequal sized chambers that were probably created at the same time. Both chambers are separated from one another by a common central wall. Each chamber has its own entrance .

The oval northern chamber is about 3.7 m long, 2.6 m wide in the middle and 1.8 to 1.5 m high. It consists of two cap stones, one of which has about 25 cup-shaped depressions , eight bearing stones and dry masonry . Here were emerging stones , found several skeletons and stone objects. The corridor is about 5.6 m long, 0.7 m wide and 0.8–1.1 m high. It consists of eight bearing stones and two cap stones and 2 sets of door stones.

The oval southern chamber is about 5.3 m long, 2.3 m wide in the middle and 1.8 to 1.5 m high. It consists of five cover stones and eleven bearing stones and dry masonry. Here remains were about 50 people and flint daggers , pottery , bone tools, stone axes , amber jewelry and teeth found. Their corridor consists of three supporting stones and two cap stones and a locking device. The corridor is about 5.0 m long, 0.7 m wide and 0.8–1.3 m high. It consists of eight stones and 2 sets of door stones that are behind the corner pillars and between the 2nd and 3rd stone pair. There are drywall areas.

On the mound there is also a small stone box ( Danish light box ) from the Bronze Age .

To the west of Ubby are the passage graves Ubby Grønnehøj , Ubby 1 and 2 and Ubby Ræverøgel.
