Arend de Vries

Arend de Vries (born September 22, 1954 in Berumerfehn ) is a German Protestant theologian . Since November 1st, 2006 he has been the spiritual vice-president of the Hanover regional church office of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church of Hanover .

Life

After studying Protestant theology in Wuppertal and Tübingen and the first theological exam in 1982, de Vries completed his vicariate in Pattensen and in the Rotenburg (Wümme) seminary . In 1985 he was in Ostrhauderfehn ordained and was there until 1993, church pastor. He then moved to Hanover , where he became state youth pastor and managing director of the state youth pastor's office in the Office for Community Service (today: House of Church Services ). In October 1999 he was appointed state superintendent of the now dissolved district of Calenberg-Hoya by the church senate and took office in March 2000. In 2006 he was appointed spiritual vice-president of the regional church office in Hanover by the church senate and took office on November 1, 2006. In this position he is Head of Department 2; Theology and community, church fields of action, mission and ecumenism .
