Gerhard Hahn (theologian)

Gerhard Ludwig Adolf Hahn (born August 1, 1901 in Großenrode ; † July 26, 1943 in Jelabuga ) was a German theologian and politician ( NSDAP ).

Life

Hahn took as a volunteer at the First World War in part and joined after the war, a volunteer corps to. He then completed a degree in theology at the Universities of Göttingen and Leipzig . In 1921 he became a corps bow bearer of the Corps Brunsviga Göttingen . From 1928 he was a pastor in Elmlohe .

Since 1930 he was a member of the NSDAP and from 1932 belonged to the Prussian state parliament for this party . From 1932 he was regional director of the German Christians in Hanover and acted as a specialist advisor on church issues for the NSDAP. In the course of the transfer of power to the National Socialists , he was appointed president of the regional church assembly in 1933 and at the same time during the church struggle by the German Christians as clergyman vice-president of the regional church office in Hanover . On November 6, 1934, the civil servants of the German Christians, including Gerhard Hahn, were removed from the Hanover regional church office and given leave of absence. In 1936 he moved to the regional church of Thuringia and took over a pastor's position in Friemar . After the beginning of the Second World War , he did military service in 1943 and was taken prisoner by the Soviets during the Battle of Stalingrad and died in POW camp 97 .
