Hans Schmidt (theologian, 1950)

Hans Schmidt (* 1950 ) is a German Protestant theologian .

From 1994 to 1999 he was regional superintendent of the Hanover district of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church of Hanover and from 1999 to 2001 clerical vice-president of the Hanover regional church office .

Life

From 1969 to 1972 Hans Schmidt studied German and Protestant religion in Göttingen . In 1973 Schmidt completed the first teaching examination for secondary level 1 . He studied Protestant theology in Göttingen from 1973 to 1978 and passed his second theological exam in 1980. In 1981, he became the pastor ordained and took his first pastorate. From 1982 he was pastor in Adenbüttel and Rethen near Gifhorn . In 1988 he became director of studies of the preacher's seminary at Imbshausen Castle . In 1994 he was appointed regional superintendent of the Hanover district of the Ev.-luth. Regional Church of Hanover. In 1999 he became the Church Senate appointed clergy Vice President and head of the Spiritual Department in Landeskirchenamt Hanover. In 2001, Hans Schmidt left the top position and has since worked as a lecturer and assistant professor at the Evangelical Bethel Educational Center and the Diakonie Bethel University of Applied Sciences .
