Eberhard Klügel

Eberhard Klügel (born November 11, 1901 in Hanover ; † September 30, 1966 there ) was a German Lutheran theologian and church historian .

Life

After studying theology, Klügel became an assistant chaplain in Goslar in 1929 , an association chaplain of the Inner Mission for press work in 1931 and pastor in Bennigsen in 1933 . Here he was one of the founders of the Pastors' Emergency League , of which he was a member of the first Imperial Council of Brothers . He was also a member of the Hanover Whitsun Conference and in 1933 a founding member and first managing director of the "Landeskirchliche Sammlung". At the end of May 1934 he took part in the Barmen Confessing Synod, at which the Barmen Theological Declaration was adopted.

From 1935 he also took on temporary jobs in the regional church office. In 1937 Klügel was appointed director of studies and head of the preachers' seminary at Erichsburg , where he trained the first parish priests after the Second World War . In 1950 he became regional church councilor in the regional church office of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church of Hanover and on June 1, 1959, regional superintendent of the newly formed district of Hanover .

From 1960 to 1966 he was chairman of the Society for Church History in Lower Saxony. His estate is in the regional church archive in Hanover.
