Eric Surmenian
Eric Surménian (born January 2, 1973 ) is a French jazz bassist.
Live and act
As a child, Surménian received training in singing, dancing and drums. He later studied classical guitar and came to jazz through rock music . From 1990 he studied classical and jazz double bass at the Marseille Conservatory . He graduated with a first prize in jazz in 1996 and completed his training as a jazz bassist at the Amsterdam Conservatory .
Surménian has worked in France with Éric Barret , Antoine Lisolo , Olivier Ker Ourio , Serge Lazarevitch , Guillaume de Chassy and Ronnie Patterson , in Belgium with Diederik Wissels and Erik Vermeulen and in the Netherlands with Mark Alban Lotz , Ernst Reijseger , Jasper Blom and Karel Boehlee , also with Matt Wilson , David Berkman , Tom Rainey and Toots Thielemans . He leads a piano and a string trio.
