Olivier Ker Ourio (born February 13, 1964 in Paris ) is a French jazz musician ( harmonica ).

Live and act

Ker Ourio grew up on Réunion and discovered the chromatic harmonica through his father, an amateur musician . He first studied computer science at the University of Grenoble and worked as a computer scientist in a bank on Réunion before he began studying music in the jazz class of the Conservatory of Saint-Denis and Saint-Paul and then graduated from the National Conservatory in Paris . In 1993 he won the Soloist and Orchestra Prize at the La Défense National Jazz Competition . In 1994 he played with Michel Legrand .

In 1995 Ker Ourio moved to New York, where he took composition lessons from Franck Amsallem . In 1997 he recorded his first album there as a band leader, Central Park North , with David Kikoski , Ed Howard and Clarence Penn . Further productions and tours followed in the next few years. In 2003 he was involved in the homage to Django Reinhardt with Sylvain Luc and Khalil Chahine in arte and France 2 . He also recorded with the Paris Jazz Big Band , Stefano Di Battista , Diederik Wissels , Thierry Lang , Frédéric Monino and Francis Lai . He has also worked with Bruce Arnold ( Duo 2005), Aldo Romano , Georges Moustaki , Eric Longsworth , Didier Lockwood and Kevin Seddiki .
