Detlef Klahr

Detlef Klahr (born September 13, 1957 in Bergen , Celle district ) has been state superintendent for the Ostfriesland-Ems district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover since August 2007 .

Live and act

Detlef Klahr did an apprenticeship at the Deutsche Bundespost after school and a commercial college . He then studied Protestant theology at the Theological Academy in Celle - Hermannsburg from 1978 to 1983 and was subsequently vicar in Wietzendorf .

From 1986 to 1990 Klahr was parish pastor in Uelzen . From 1990 to 1997 he worked as a research assistant in church history at the Augustana University in Neuendettelsau , where he received his doctorate in 1996 with a thesis on CJ Philipp Spitta and the revival movement in Lower Saxony .

In 1997 he returned to his home country church in Hanover and became parish pastor of St. Mary's Church in Isernhagen near Hanover. From 2002 to 2007 he served as Superintendent of the Church District Burgdorf before August 1, 2007 by the Church Senate of the Lutheran Evangelical Church of Hanover for national superintendent of the at that time newly structured Sprengel Ostfriesland-Ems based in Emden was appointed. He became the successor to Oda-Gebbine Holze-Stäblein , who was retiring.
