Gerhard Meyer (State Superintendent)

Gerhard Meyer (born September 3, 1909 in Blomberg ; † October 13, 1994 in Norden , East Frisia) was a German Lutheran clergyman and most recently state superintendent of the Ostfriesland-Ems district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover .

Life

After studying Protestant theology, Meyer was ordained in Clausthal on April 30, 1939 , where he was introduced as a pastor. Later he was pastor in Northeim and Aurich and from 1946 in Loccum . In 1954 he became superintendent in Göttingen and in 1966 state superintendent for the district of East Friesland. On October 1, 1976, he retired.
