Carl Theodor Elster

Carl Theodor Elster († December 5, 1962 ) was state superintendent for the Ostfriesland-Ems district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover .

Life

Elster studied Protestant theology and was ordained on September 20, 1903. After a temporary position as assistant preacher in Petzen, he became pastor in Neuburg (Detern) in 1903 and in Riepe in 1906 . In 1935/36 he was also superintendent of the Aurich supervisory district. In the course of the reorganization of the leadership functions of the regional church, Elster was appointed in 1936 by regional bishop August Marahrens as the first regional superintendent for the newly created district of East Friesland (until 1947). In 1953 he retired as a parish pastor.
