The SpVgg Stegaurach is a sports club from the Upper Franconian community of Stegaurach . It was founded on October 1, 1945 in the Windfelder Brewery in Stegaurach. In 2010 the association had around 800 members.
history
On October 1, 1945, 57 people gathered in the Windfelder brewery to found SpVgg Stegaurach. The club started in 1945 in the lowest class, which was then called District Class 2. In 1947 the team was promoted to district class 1 Bamberg . After the district class was renamed the B class in 1949, she played in it for eight years. This was followed by promotion to the A-Class in 1958/59, but they got off again straight away. Then came the promotion, and the team stayed in the A-Class Bamberg for five years.
In 1965 the sports field was inaugurated. The first game was played between the first team and a selection team from the A-class Bamberg.
In August 1966 the gymnastics department was founded , which included a women's and girls 'department, a gymnastics department for men, a girls' group and somersaults.
In 1996 they were promoted to the Bayern League . In the 1999/2000 season they were leaders on nine match days, but it was only enough for second place. In the following season you then rose from bottom of the table.
