SpaceUp

SpaceUp is an open conference on space and space topics. This type of conference is called an unconference , where the participants decide on-site about the content, the lecture schedule and the structure of the event. SpaceUp conferences have been held in the United States, Europe and Asia. They have in common the style of an unconference, the Ignite Talks (short 5-minute presentations) and the long coffee breaks that are used for discussions between the participants.

The first SpaceUp was held on February 27th and 28th, 2010 at the San Diego Air & Space Museum . It was conducted and sponsored by the San Diego Space Society . This two-day event was accompanied by the media by Spacevidcast , participants came from NASA , the Google Lunar X-Prize , Masten Space Systems , and Quicklaunch , among others . The event was organized by Chris Radcliff. Further SpaceUps were then carried out in the USA, Europe ( Genk , Stuttgart ) and Asia ( Bangalore ).
