history
In 1853 the Ministry of the Interior asked the authorities "to be concerned about the establishment of savings banks in their area of responsibility." An attempt to set up a savings bank in Horn as early as this year failed because the establishment costs were raised. It was not until nine years, in 1862, later that Sparkasse Horn was founded on the initiative of the mayor of the city, Josef Kirchner, in order to “help the economically weaker by giving them the opportunity to invest their small savings safely and profitably, and at times to get the emergency loan on favorable terms ”. Operations began in the parish office on Kirchenplatz. In 1897 the Sparkasse moved to Florianigasse and in 1963 to the current location at Kirchenplatz 12. The first branch was opened in Gars am Kamp in 1926 , followed by a branch in Hötzelsdorf (municipality of Geras ) in 1958 and eight other locations after 1978, so that Sparkasse Horn is currently is represented in 12 municipalities.
The entire banking business of the municipal savings bank "Sparkasse der Stadt Horn", founded in 1862, was incorporated into the stock corporation with the company "Sparkasse Horn Aktiengesellschaft" by way of universal succession on December 31, 1990.
In 1993, the merger with the savings banks in Ravelsbach (community savings bank) and Kirchberg am Wagram (association savings bank) took place. Due to the merger, the company name was changed to "Sparkasse Horn-Ravelsbach-Kirchberg AG".
