Sparta Krč is a Czech football club from the south-eastern Prague district of Krč . The 2007/08 season saw the club play in the Czech second division for the first time in its history .

Club history

The association was founded in 1910 as RH Krč . Until the change of name to AFK Sparta Krč in 1919, there are no records of the club's activities. From this year the club took part in the Central Bohemia region, initially in the lowest division. In 1923 Krč was incorporated into Prague, the club was renamed RH Praha XIV . In 1927, the association returned to the name Sparta .

In the same year the team achieved the first ascent in the still young history of the club, in the III. třída. Shortly thereafter, the officials changed the club name again: from then on the team played as AFK Sparta Krč . As early as 1929 the club celebrated promotion to the II. Třída and only a year later the team rose again, this time to the top division of Central Bohemia, the so-called 1.A třída.

After the Second World War , the club was initially called Sokol Sparta Krč . In 1953 the association merged with Jiskra Michle to form TJ Montáže Krč , in 1957 the name was changed to TJ Jiskra Montáže Praha , and in 1961 to TJ Montáže Praha .

The team was third class from 1960 to 1965, but then only played in the lower classes. In 1977 Montáže managed to return to the then fourth-class Pražský přebor , the Prague City League. In the 1980s, the team shuttled between the now fifth class Prague City League and the fourth class Divize .

The promotion to the 3rd league succeeded Montáže in 1990. Two years later, the club returned to its old name Sparta , but also took the sponsor abbreviation BB in the name. Since 1995 the association has been known as SK Sparta Krč .

Sparta Krč rose in 1996 from the 3rd division, but immediately back on. In the 2003/04 season, the team rose again from and immediately on again. The 2006/07 game year ended Sparta Krč in second place. Since the FK Chmel Blšany was denied the second division license for the 2007/08 season, Sparta Krč was able to take its place in the professional second division. After only one season, Krč was relegated from the professional camp.

Financial difficulties led to the fact that the team registered only for the fifth-rate Pražský přebor despite a third place in the 2008/09 season of ČFL in the 2009/10 season .

Stadion

The Sparta Krč football field is located in the immediate vicinity of the Kunratický creek and the Sokol Krč baseball area, which includes four baseball and softball fields . The capacity is around 2,000 spectators. Because their own stadium does not meet the criteria for the second division, Sparta Krč played its home games in the second division 2007/08 season in the Evžena Rošického stadium , where only a few hundred people came on Saturday mornings.
