Spartera ( Greek Σπαρτερά ) is a village settlement in the southeast of the Greek island of Corfu . It belongs to the Neochori municipality of the Lefkimmi municipality in the Kerkyra municipality and has 100 inhabitants.

history

Named after the locally occurring bush plant Sparto ( Spanish broom , Spartium junceum named) Village Spartera there since at least 1507. In 1537, the village from pirates was Khair ad-Din Barbarossa completely destroyed, but settled back later.
