Spas Jonev

Spas Iliew Dschonew ( Bulgarian Спас Илиев Джонев ; born September 2, 1927 in Novo Selo , Plovdiv , Bulgaria , † December 8, 1966 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian actor .

Life

Spas Iiev was born in a small village in Plovdiv Oblast. He was already on stage in his youth and from 1944 was regularly engaged in the theater. At the age of 26 he moved to Sofia, where from 1953 he played "Ivan Vazov" at the national theater . While he was mainly on stage and played pieces from Friedrich Schiller to Maxim Gorki , he was also occasionally seen in Bulgarian films, including Die Kleine und Männer .

On December 8, 1966, Jonev died at the age of 39 from complications from his liver cancer . He had been a heavy alcoholic until his death .
