The Spatsizi River is an orographic left tributary of the Stikine River in the northwest of the Canadian province of British Columbia .
The river has its source at an altitude of about 1600 m on the Spatsizi plateau . The Spatsizi Headwaters Park , a provincial park , was established in the headwaters . The Skeena River , which flows south, however, has its source a few kilometers away. The Spatsizi River flows through the mountains in a predominantly northeastern direction. Most of its river course and catchment area lie in the Spatsizi Plateau Wilderness Provincial Park . Important tributaries are Kluayetz Creek , Dawson River and Ross River from the right and Mink Creek from the left. The Mink Creek drains the Cold Fish Lake , the largest lake in the basin of Spatsizi River. The village of Hyland Post is located on the left bank of the river at around river kilometer 10 . The Spatsizi River finally flows into the Stikine River 140 km southeast of Dease Lake .
The Spatsizi River has a length of about 110 km. It drains an area of 3400 km². The mean discharge at the mouth is 60 m³ / s. The highest monthly outflows usually occur in June.
