Saint-Gaudéric ( Occitan : Sant Gauderic , Catalan Sant Galderic) is a municipality with 115 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the west of the Aude department in the Occitania region of southern France (before 2016: Languedoc-Roussillon ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Carcassonne and the canton of La Piège au Razès (until 2015: canton Fanjeaux ). The inhabitants are called Galdriciens . The place was called Vievila in the Middle Ages and was renamed after his famous son, Saint Galderic (French: Gaudéric, Occitan: Gauderic, Catalan: Galderic) after his canonization around 990.

Saint-Gaudéric is about 38 kilometers west-southwest of Carcassonne . Saint-Gaudéric is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Julien-de-Briola in the north, Orsans in the north and northeast, Hounoux in the east, Escueillens-et-Saint-Just-de-Bélengard in the southeast, Seignalens in the south, Malegoude in the southwest, Sainte-Foi in the west and Plavilla in the northwest.
