Brézilhac ( Occitan : Bresilhac ) is a southern French municipality with 174 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the center of the Aude department in the Occitania region (before 2016 Languedoc-Roussillon ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Carcassonne (until 2017 Limoux ) and the canton of La Piège au Razès (until 2015 Alaigne ). The inhabitants are called Brézilhacois .

location

Brézilhac is located on the southeastern edge of the Lauragais in the former county of Razès, about 23 kilometers west-southwest of Carcassonne . Brézilhac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lasserre-de-Prouille in the north, Cailhavel in the east, Ferran in the south, Fenouillet-du-Razès in the south-west and Fanjeaux in the west and north-west.
