La Cassaigne ( Occitan : La Cassanha ) is a municipality with 169 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the west of the Aude department in the Occitania region of southern France (before 2016: Languedoc-Roussillon ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Carcassonne and the canton of La Piège au Razès (until 2015: canton Fanjeaux ). The inhabitants are called Lacassaignois .

location

Saint-Gaudéric about 25 kilometers west of Carcassonne . Saint-Gaudéric is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Laurac in the north, Villasavary in the north and northeast, Fanjeaux in the east, Orsans in the south, Cazalrenoux in the west and Generville in the northwest.
