Leuc is a municipality with 849 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in southern France and a prefecture of the Aude department . It belongs to the municipality of Carcassonne Agglo , to the Arrondissement of Carcassonne and to the canton of Carcassonne-2 (until 2015: canton of Carcassonne-1 ). The inhabitants are called Leucois .

geography

Leuc is about seven kilometers south of the city center of Carcassonne . The Lauquet flows through the municipality . Leuc is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cavanac in the north, Palaja in the north-east, Villefloure in the east, Ladern-sur-Lauquet in the south-east, Verzeille in the south and Couffoulens in the west and north-west.
