Berriac is a municipality with 954 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in southern France in the Aude department . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Carcassonne and the canton of La Montagne d'Alaric (until 2015: canton of Carcassonne-1 ). The inhabitants are called Berriacais .
geography
Berriac is about four kilometers east of Carcassonne city center . The Aude flows along the eastern edge of the municipality . Berriac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Carcassonne in the north, west and south, Villedubert in the north and north-east and Trèbes in the east.
