Hounoux ( Occitan : Onós ) is a southern French municipality with 136 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the center of the Aude department in the Occitanie region (before 2016 Languedoc-Roussillon ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Carcassonne (until 2017 Limoux ) and the canton of La Piège au Razès (until 2015 Alaigne ). The inhabitants are called Honosais .

location

Hounoux is about 36 kilometers west-southwest of Carcassonne in the former county of Razès . Hounoux is surrounded by the neighboring communities Fenouillet-du-Razès and La Courtète in the north and north-east, Montgradail in the east and south-east, Escueillens-et-Saint-Just-de-Bélengard in the south, Saint-Gaudéric in the west and south-west and Orsans in the west and northwest.
