Attractions

From the former station building of a disused narrow-gauge railway, a path leads to the central village square, where the school and the town hall are located. In front of and after the town hall, on the lintel of two houses, you can find unexpected sculptures by a bricklayer Berquière who lived here. On one lintel you can see two lions with hearts and the date 1827, while the other sculpture depicts two fantastic animals, vases of flowers and the year 1862. On the village square itself, a monumental stone cross with the Coq Gaulois on top was erected in 1776 .

In the north and at the highest point of the village there are still the ruins of the former stately castle of the Seigneurs de Montauriol (Monteauriolo), a comfortable residence at the time, surrounded by a garden and a tree-lined park. Only opening from the north-west, the castle grounds are still protected by moats today. Only two weathered, almost square towers flank the corners of the former castle grounds to the east and south. Today, as then, it is privately owned.

The originally Romanesque church building next door has long since disappeared. Documents prove the rule of the Sainte-Marie de Lagrasse Abbey over this church building in 1311 . Later a modest new church was built, the portal of which bears the year 1812. Despite the few inhabitants, a triangular bell tower with three modern bells was built here.

Remains of a former windmill can still be found above the former castle.
