The neighboring municipalities of Saint-Michel-de-Lanès are Beauteville in the north and north-west, Avignonet-Lauragais in the north, Gourvieille in the north-east, Belflou in the east, Salles-sur-l'Hers in the south and south-east, Marquein in the south-west, Caignac in the west as well as Lagarde in the northwest.
