Molandier ( Occitan : Molandièr ) is a southern French municipality with 237 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aude department in the Occitanie region (before 2016: Languedoc-Roussillon ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Carcassonne and the canton of La Piège au Razes (until 2015: canton Belpech ). The inhabitants are called Molandierais .
location
Molandier is the westernmost municipality in the Aude department. It is located about 35 kilometers west of Carcassonne in the southeast of the Lauragais landscape . The Hers-Vif flows through the municipality . Molandier is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Gibel in the north and north-west, Fajac-la-Relenque in the north and north-east, La Louvière-Lauragais and Mézerville in the east, Belpech in the south and south-east and Mazères in the west.
