Villautou ( Occitan : Villauton ) is a municipality with 63 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the west of the Aude department in the southern French region of Occitania (before 2016: Languedoc-Roussillon ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Carcassonne and the canton of La Piège au Razès (until 2015: canton Belpech ). The inhabitants are called Villantonais .
location
Villautou is about 28 kilometers west of Carcassonne . The Vixiège flows in the north of the municipality. Villautou is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pécharic-et-le-Py in the north, Cahuzac in the northeast, Lafage in the east, Mirepoix in the south and Plaigne in the west.
