Villepinte ( Occitan : Vilapinta ) is a French commune with 1,303 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aude department in the Occitanie region . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Carcassonne and the canton of La Piège au Razès (until 2015: Canton Castelnaudary-Sud ). The inhabitants are called Villepintois .

Villepinte is located about 23 kilometers west-northwest of Carcassonne on the Canal du Midi and the Fresquel River and its tributary Tréboul . Villepinte is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lasbordes in the north and northwest, Villespy in the north, Carlipa in the northeast, Saint-Martin-le-Vieil in the east and northeast, Bram in the south, Villasavary in the southwest and Pexiora in the west and southwest.
