Special Operations Forces Exhibition

The Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference ( SOFEX ) is a defense, security and arms fair held in the capital of Jordan . The fair is under the patronage of the Jordanian King Abdullah II and the organization is supported by the armed forces of Jordan .

history

SOFEX was founded in 1996 by King Abdullah II and takes place every two years at the King Abdullah I Air Base of the Jordanian Air Force under the patronage of Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein . Equipment, technologies and services are presented to an international audience on more than 75,000 square meters. The special focus of the fair is on internal security and special forces and solutions from international exhibitors. The four-day exhibition starts with a conference on the first day and also offers seminars on counter-terrorism and related topics. In 2008 the fair had over 12,000 visitors, 319 exhibitors from 34 countries as well as 380 individual delegates from security, military and government circles and 101 delegations from 58 countries. In 2012, the daily events were jointly organized with the internationally known organization Janes IHS .
